Fancy Shmancy

So, since I have been sticking my toe in the wedding biz, when I am a guest at other peoples weddings.  Or I see pictures of weddings I have gotten pretty good at guessing how much they spent on certain items, and in my personal opinion if that was a "waste" of $ or not.

For example.  The last wedding I went to they had monogrammed embossed paper hand towels in the bathroom.  Now, come on.  You are telling me instead of  an extra hour with the photographer, or an upgrade on their honeymoon they spent $100+ dollars on paper towel?!?!.  I guess I am more frugal (cheap) than that.  Ok, enough of my rant.  Do you want to look, but are on a budget?  Then do it yourself.  How?

1. Buy a $20 Embosser
2. Buy your desired amount of cocktail napkins, paper towels, etc.
3. Stamp away

  1. As a guest of that wedding as well I thought it was the personal touches that made it that much more special. I'm assuming you are not too familiar with this bride and groom because let me assure you they came no where close to your projected price plus most wedding photographers give a rate for the day not by the hour Their wedding was the most gorgeous ceremony and reception I have attended and I'm sure that most ever will. To them it was worth every penny. Plus who really has the time to do that when your working full time and your fiancé is in e military who has been stationed in two different states and been deployed during the planning of is wedding!

  2. Completely agree with the above. The people there that care and are a part of the couple's life appreciated the small touches and know that it was a perfect day to the bride and groom and that is all that matters. It's always great to do research before writing...

  3. And as A lifelong friend of the couple, their beautiful taste and personalities were scattered throughout the wedding and reception.. Personalized toilet paper or whatever makes it that much better! They were not looking for the best price they were looking for the BEST of everything.. They wouldn't have had it any other way. They are not "cheap" it was the dream wedding they have always wanted and more power to them.. And they didn't plan in 100 days. It had a lot of thought and hard work put into it and it couldn't been more perfect! They got plenty of hours from photographer, trust me. And honeymoon was like a dream! Oh and some "small" children looked like they had a blast! It must had been bc of the high dollar band!! People have different taste, just bc you think it's ridiculous doesn't mean, it wasn't the best day of their lives or that they have to worry about spendings..

  4. I find it extremely pathetic that you have to criticize the wedding of someone you really don’t know anything about. If your site is intended to do that they keep it up I’m sure your readers would look forward to inviting you to help plan their special days so that you can critique their dreams. If you were writing this entry as a way to inform your reader a better approach would have been: I was honored to have attended an exquisite wedding recently where the touches of personality from the bride and groom could be seen throughout including the restroom when the couples name had been embossed on towels. Here is how you can replicate their idea if you did not budget for extras or want to add more special and unique details to your special day...just a thought!!!

  5. I agree with all of the above posts, however, I'd also like to take the time to add to your list above:

    5. It's spelled "Voila".
    6. You must have some intelligent followers if you have to put(cheap) in parentheses after frugal.
    7. It's hard to upgrade a Honeymoon in Bora-Bora, but, by all means! Please share with us your tips...
    8. Nobody cares!
