Crockpot take 2!

Tonight I am making this super yummy soup for dinner Pumpkin Black Bean Soup!!! The Crockpot is plugged in (I double checked!) and I hope it is pipping HOTT and ready to gobble up when we get home!

Speaking of Gobble, Thanksgiving is a week from tomorrow and with married life comes the new challenge of eating 6 meals in 2 days and driving all over God's country to do so. D and I decided we will do Thanksgiving with my family this year, since we did it with his last. Friday morning we will drive to Kentucky and do Thanksgiving with his brood. I am looking forward to many Holiday favorites like, My dad's yummy Turkey, mom's stuffing, and Dave's mom's Peanut Butter Pie!!! I better hit the treadmill double hard this week!

I forgot to plug in the Crock pot before I left for work yesterday morning, guess who had NO dinner waiting on them at home? You got that right! My amazing husband stepped right in and took control of the quesadilla maker and we had a Mexican night! OOOOOLE!

So tonight the crock pot is on (I checked) and dinner will welcome me home! WOOT

Getting Domesticated part deux!

Well the Pumpkin Ravioli was bust!!! When I say bust I mean, it was a disaster, we had both doors open, fans running, I had to phone a friend, and we ended up eating frozen Turkey Pot Pies. Oh well, at least I tried right?! LOL

Tonight I am going to redeem myself with Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup I mean, how hard is it to mess up a Crock-Pot recipe? LOL Guess we will see, it is simmering as we speak!

Wedding Related:
I spoke to my Photographer yesterday The Fabulous Matt Vietti he said 2 weeks til the pictures are done, as soon as I get them I will be posting Wedding Recaps (I am a visual person).

Add to that, my brother Daniel popped the question to his girlfriend Mandi this past Saturday, let the planning begin! Congrats Daniel and Mandi!!!!!!!!!!

If you are getting married next fall, or heck even this fall these are my two favorite new colors together!!! Let me know if you are using them, I wanna live vicariously through you!

I am in LOVE with this color combination Grey and Orange (and I hate Orange), but something about it with the Grey makes me wanna do it all over again! Orange Calla Lillies are also STUNNING in a bouquet! Here are a few inspiration boards from the internets!

WE'RE BACK!

We are back from our Honeymoon, man we had a blast! If you have never cruised do it once in you life, food 25hrs a day, drinks at your disposal its great!!!

While on vacation I realized which direction I wanted to take my blog, bare with me it will be more entertaining than It sounds. I am going to cover married life.

For us example talking about another married couple (which we would never do)

Dave: "it must be hard being married to a saint" me: "Thanks Honey" Dave: "no, you know what I mean"

So sit back and I promise to keep you entertained! You bride's to be don't worry either, I have recaps coming to show you how to save some serious $$$ on your wedding and other tidbit to throw in as well! I wouldn't forget about you!

A Bridezilla Confessional:

I think you start this with a "Hail Mary" or something? As I sit back and reflect on our "big day" I realized I had a few Bridezilla moments though out the week of the wedding. I think it all started when I was afraid one of the Groom's brothers was going to be in the Hospital instead of the Church (luckily this didn't happen). Then a few "incidents" along the way. Here are a few I can remember, I am sure the people around me that week could think of a few more.....

  • Dave calls me Friday morning about when, where, and what for the day. We talk, hang up, and I realize my rehearsal outfit is at our apartment, I call him back he says "sure I'll grab it, but I have already left the house" I decided to call him back and say "Nah, forget it, I'll wear something else" He didn't answer this lead to my blood pressure reaching 200/150 every time his phone went to voice mail, I JUST TALKED TO HIM!....ugh Not my finest moment
  • 5:00pm on Friday (hour before rehearsal) Dave goes to pick up the Keg's, calls me "Keg's didn't get ordered, they are scrambling to find us some, she says she can have one delivered tonight" Its just beer right? So you would think! LOL
  • Morning of the wedding I sat in a Coma from about 8:00am until 12:00pm, thinking "rain, rain go away," "Listen to dad, take this all in enjoy it!" "I am going to kill my mother, why? no particular reason, she is just here?" NOT HER FAULT!

So these are the 3 highlights I could come up with from the wedding weekend and day of, It is funny to me what I would let go, and what I held onto, and chose to get angry about. In the end, Brides choose your battles and there isn't anything that is going to happen that weekend that will keep you from the alter!!!

Post-Wedding Depression!

Hello fellow wedding watchers! I am still reeling from my post-wedding depression, I need to find something else to do with my time now that I have free time again. Every day gets a little easier, I am just trying to hold on to those little moments that were so special on our Wedding Day!!! It is so weird to have something occupy you 24/7 and then POOF its over, kinda like Christmas morning once all the gifts have been opened!

D and I celebrated our Birthday's this weekend, and got to catch Def Leprechaun at Mulligan's in Nashville. It was a great time had by all, they even sang Happy Birthday to D in Gaelic, it made his night! We are headed to Mexico this weekend for our long awaited Honeymoon, HELLO FALL BREAK! So I will be busy this week packing and getting things ready for our big trip!!!!

Here are some wedding Blurb's from around the Internet's: snippet & ink

Red and yellow.

Some very practical, very helpful styling tips.

Sugar and spice.

Inspired by black and white polka dots.

More things to add to the registry: spoons and soup cans.

I think it's safe to say it now: donuts are the next big wedding trend (and I'm totally okay with that).

Loving this alternative to a veil - modern at vintage at the same time.

Hand-lettering makes me happy, via Oh So Beautiful Paper.

An autumn heart.

With the Holidays just around the corner (OMG!) you maybe planning a party to celebrate 09' if you are looking to hire a DJ to help throw your party over the edge, please look no further than Mr. Johnny Gardner, he played my wedding this weekend and did a fantastic job of getting the floor full and even getting on the floor with us!!! He is quite reasonable he played my wedding for only $275!!!! You can't beat that with a stick! Anyone who was at the reception commented on how much fun Johnny was, please pass the word!

We DID IT!

In 100 days, we planned, executed, and survived our wild and crazy wedding weekend! We are so blessed to have so many friends and family that came out and supported us on our big day. I was blown away to find the church FULL! Thank you to all of you who came out, and we feel like we saw everyone for 30 seconds, so I can't wait to see you all soon and spend more time catching up!

Thank you to my vendors who all far exceeded my expectations to ensure we had a wonderful celebration!

Highlights from the night good and bad....
  • It rained like cats and dogs until exactly 2:00pm when pictures began, then the sun came out and we took some fabulous shots!
  • My preacher Brother Jack Martin is now a rock star after the ceremony he performed, yes he really is Irish, and he preaches at that church.
  • The Slide Show hit the frits about 6 minutes into the 12 minute show.
  • We did a couples Keg Stand (thank you Crockett for that encouragement)
  • Someone tossed their cookies in the men's bathroom sink (good thing the Keg Order was messed up)
  • The place we ordered our Keg's forgot to order them, so we ended up with 2 instead of 3 and didn't get our Yuengling Keg :(
  • We ended the reception around 11:15 and then headed to "BobKatz" some shady hole the in the wall where most our out of town guest where, and celebrated until 2:00am!
It was the best night of my life, and I couldn't be happier. The Photographer took over 10,000 photos so as soon as those come in I will post some.

As far as the Blog goes, lets just go with it. I will see where it leads!!!

License to Wed!

We are headed to the County Clerk to get our License to Wed!!! Today begins our big 'to do' list and we are so excited to be T-Minus 2 days to go! I keep hearing that song "FINAL COUNTDOWN" in my head.

I put my wedding dress on last night so I could STOP having the nightmare that it wouldn't zip, glad I put that fear to rest! LOL Now I can relax, no pigging out, just know that it is going to be fine. It is all going to be fine, great, AWESOME!!!

I will update as much as I can over the next few days, but for now off to the County Clerk!
